The South Surrey Arena Digital Display has undergone an exciting upgrade with the installation of state-of-the-art digital displays. This $470,000 project, funded by the City of Surrey, aims to enhance the experience for both spectators and users while offering new opportunities for local partnerships and community-building.
Mayor Brenda Locke expressed the city’s commitment to improving recreational facilities, noting that the new high-definition displays will offer an immersive viewing experience. Fans can expect to enjoy instant replays, pregame presentations, and interactive features like shout-outs and greetings. This upgrade is a step toward modernizing the arena and making events more engaging for everyone involved.
The South Surrey Arena Digital Display is home to local groups like the Semiahmoo Minor Hockey Association and the Surrey Eagles, who will directly benefit from this new technology. Saje Brar, Director of Operations for the Surrey Eagles, shared his excitement: “Thanks to the city, we now have a tool that elevates our game day experience. The ability to showcase replays and enhance fan engagement will undoubtedly boost our performance as we aim for back-to-back championships.”
This new technology not only enhances spectator experiences but also opens doors for sponsorship and branding opportunities for local businesses. By showcasing ads or messages during events, the displays help to foster a sense of community at South Surrey Arena.
The digital displays are fully installed and will be used in various events and programs hosted at the arena, from hockey games to special community events. This new feature brings a modern touch to one of South Surrey’s most popular recreational venues.
