Sewing Through Storms: Castle Sewing’s New Beginnings

A Rainbow After the Rain: Castle Sewing’s 81-Year Journey

In the heart of Langley, Castle Sewing, a beloved business with a rich 81-year history spanning four generations, faced adversity head-on. Surviving a destructive fire and navigating the uncertainties of a pandemic, the resilient family-owned enterprise encountered a new challenge: the impending Skytrain route altering their familiar landscape since 1964.

A Stitch in Time: Moving Forward

For Stephannie and Clint Bulman, the only option was to adapt and move. Braving the storms, Castle Sewing emerged with a brand new retail store and studio space, welcoming sewers and quilters to a spacious haven.

Rebirth in July: From Ground Up to Rainbow Hues

Reopening on July 8, Castle Sewing’s new location was meticulously planned “from the ground up.” The modern, brightly lit shop now boasts over 1,000 sq. ft. of additional space, creating room for vibrant fabric bolts, accessories, sewing machines, and enhanced studio space on the mezzanine.

A Joyful Welcome: Embracing Change

Walking into the new space evokes joy. Stephannie shares, “It gives you a happy feeling when you walk in because it’s so light.” However, the real testament to success is the warmth with which clients have embraced the move. A customer exclaimed, “Love it, love it, love it!” capturing the sentiment of many.

Crafting Possibilities: Classes, Machines, and More

Castle Sewing invites everyone, from novices to seasoned pros, to explore their studio. The fully programmable HandiQuilter Amara 20, a long-arm machine, awaits local quilters. Grand opening specials will continue throughout the summer, with exciting new classes planned for the fall.

Generations Unite: A Family Legacy Continues

Joined by their daughter Emily, Castle Sewing looks forward to a future filled with possibilities. Founded by Clint’s grandfather in 1942, the business adapts to change while cherishing its roots.

Central Haven: Easy Access to Creativity

Located just eight minutes from their former spot, Castle Sewing Centre sits conveniently off the Trans Canada, near 200 St. Centrally accessible from anywhere in the Lower Mainland, the new address at 19748 86 Ave Unit A125, Langley Twp, invites visitors Monday to Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
