Semiahmoo Shopping Centre: A New Chapter for South Surrey

Exciting changes are coming to South Surrey with the redevelopment of the Semiahmoo Shopping Centre. This popular shopping destination at 1701 152 Street is set for transformation. A proposal by First Capital Realty will turn it into a modern, mixed-use community space.

First Capital Realty plans to redevelop the northern part of the Semiahmoo Shopping Centre. The new design includes three towers—two high-rise and one mid-rise. These buildings will feature 554 residential units and over 45,000 square feet of commercial space. This space will include shops, restaurants, and a community art space. Additionally, the project includes a new public park and aligns with the City of Surrey’s vision for the area.

However, despite some residents’ concerns about the height of the buildings and potential shading, the Semiahmoo Shopping Centre redevelopment brings many benefits. The project will create more housing options, improve walkability, and offer new public spaces for the community to enjoy. Experts anticipate that the project will boost property values in the area, making it an attractive opportunity for real estate investment. According to a recent article on the redevelopment, this is a significant development for the region.

As a top realtor in South Surrey, Jared Gibbons sees the Semiahmoo Shopping Centre development as a major step forward for the community. “This isn’t just about new buildings; it’s about creating a better, more vibrant South Surrey,” Jared says. For those interested in buying, selling, or investing in South Surrey, this redevelopment offers exciting opportunities.
