The Surrey-Langley SkyTrain Project involves not only the creation of the elevated rail line but also the development of eight new stations, 14 kilometers of bike trails, and pedestrian pathways, promoting active transportation. Additionally, there will be three transit exchanges, nine power propulsion stations, and a 250-meter guideway section at the terminal station in Langley City.
The rail line will run from King George Station in Surrey to Langley City Centre, cutting travel time between the two locations to just 22 minutes. The new stations are designed as transit-oriented development areas, which will encourage sustainable growth around the stations.

Each phase of the project has followed a unique procurement model. The guideway construction will use a design-build-finance approach, the station construction will follow a design-build model, and the systems and trackwork will operate under a target price contract.
