TransLink

The authority responsible for the SkyTrain system, has carefully selected these station names to ensure they are easily identifiable for transit riders, facilitating navigation through the system.

The station name development process involved extensive research, stakeholder consultation, community and neighbourhood plan reviews, and an examination of land-use policies to understand future development around the stations better.

These stations are not just transit hubs but also key locations where the Province will support transit-oriented developments, creating vibrant communities that rely on public transit for work and social activities.

Surrey-Langley SkyTrain

This will be executed through three separate contracts: guideway, stations, systems and trackwork. The Province announced the firms selected to respond, with contracts expected to be awarded in early 2024.

Advance work on the project has been underway since 2020, including the widening of Fraser Highway between 140 and 148 streets and utility relocations. Construction on the Surrey-Langley SkyTrain will commence in 2024.

The project promises to enhance the quality of life for residents, improve connectivity, and contribute to a more sustainable future for the region. Stay tuned for further updates on this exciting development that will reshape the face of Metro Vancouver’s transit system.
