Sim elected new mayor of Vancouver in a landslide vote

Ken Sim

Ken Sim achieved a decisive victory on October 15, securing the position of Vancouver’s new mayor. A successful businessman, Sim, who had no prior political experience, garnered an impressive 47.93% of the votes. In contrast, the incumbent Vancouver Mayor, Kennedy Stewart, trailed with 16.68% of the total votes.

Heading the ABC Vancouver party, Sim has outlined ambitious plans for his mayoralty. He pledges to bolster public safety by hiring 100 officers and 100 mental health nurses. Additionally, the revival of the police school liaison program is on the agenda. The ABC party advocates for a VPD graffiti abatement initiative and proposes the implementation of body cameras for police officers on patrol.

Addressing the concerning surge in hate crimes, particularly those targeting the Asian, Semitic, and Indigenous communities, Sim’s party vows to establish a dedicated task force to tackle these issues head-on.

Beyond his political endeavors, Ken Sim is renowned as the co-founder of Rosemary Rocksalt Bagels and Nurse Next Door.
