Official Community PlanThornhill Urban Reserve
- Policy
- The Official Community Plan holds Thornhill as a long-term Urban Reserve. Urban development will not be supported there until the City’s population exceeds 100,000 and the residential capacity within the existing urban area is approaching build-out
- Before building
- Before urban development can happen in the Thornhill Urban Reserve, the OCP requires approval of an amended Regional Context Statement by the Metro Vancouver Board, approval of an extension to the Fraser Sewerage Area by the Greater Vancouver Sewerage and Drainage District Board, and an area plan adopted by Council
- Parcels
- Until those conditions are met, the minimum parcel size for subdivision of land designated Urban Reserve is 2.0 hectares (about 4.9 acres)
