Which Maple Ridge areas have a guide?

12 so far: Southwest Maple Ridge, West Central Maple Ridge, East Central Maple Ridge, Northwest Maple Ridge, Albion, Cottonwood, North Maple Ridge, Silver Valley, Northeast Maple Ridge, Thornhill, Websters Corners, Whonnock.

Do these areas have official boundaries?

The names are MLS® sub-areas, which the City of Maple Ridge does not publish as boundaries. Albion, the Town Centre, Hammond and Silver Valley each have a City area plan, and each guide says how it places its area and gives facts by address.

Which guide covers the Town Centre?

The City’s Town Centre Area Plan covers the downtown core, and I use it in both my West Central and East Central guides. If your address is near the line between them, read both.

How do I check the school for an address?

Maple Ridge’s public schools are run by School District 42 (SD42). Catchments are set by address, so confirm an exact address with SD42. Each guide lists the schools the Province’s school list shows for its area.

Do the guides have flood and slope notes?

Yes. Each guide has a flood section with notes from City pages, and the Southwest guide also covers the City’s rule on groundwater and drainage inside the Fraser River escarpment area. Ask me or the City about a specific lot.

Which areas have ALR land?

ALR status is set parcel by parcel, so check the exact address on the Agricultural Land Commission map. Each guide says what I found for its area.

Can you check a Maple Ridge address for me?

Yes. My Maple Ridge zoning guide covers agricultural and rural residential zones only. For a home on a city lot, send me the address with the form below. I’ll look up its zone, plan designation and any ALR or flood questions and get back to you before you write an offer.
