Planning and zoning

Planning in West Newton

Zoning and plan designations can be different for each lot.

  • The City lists West Newton plans among its approved Newton land use plans, including the West Newton / Hwy 10 plan north of Highway 10 and west of King George Boulevard, the West Newton North and West Newton South plans west of 128 Street, and the Newton Cultural Commercial District at 128 Street and 80 Avenue.
  • Imagine Scott Road is also listed on the City’s Newton land use plans page.
  • Nearby, just east of King George Boulevard, is the Newton Town Centre Plan, between 68 and 72 Avenue. The City first approved a plan there in 1990 and adopted a new one in July 2020.
