Westham Island is a farming island where the Fraser River meets the ocean, right next to Ladner. Most properties are farms and country homes on big pieces of land. Much of the land is in the Agricultural Land Reserve (ALR), which is farmland the province protects. The George C. Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary is at the north end of the island.
